Hiroshi Fujiwara just doesn't stop, does he? After dropping two Air Jordan 1s with Travis Scott then two sacai x Nike LDWaffles with Chitose Abe one week after, the godfather of streetwear has now officially unveiled the fragment design x Nike Dunk High "Tokyo" in all its glory. First teased last month, this special colourway is part of the upcoming "True To Your City" Pack that will take us all the way to the end of the year.
The spiritual sequel to the "Beijing" which got a modern rework earlier this year, the "Tokyo" follows more-or-less the same aesthetic but it replaces the purple tones with a "Midnight Navy" instead, resulting in an extra understated look that will go with pretty much any fit you throw at it this season. Nike Swoosh logos shoot across the lateral and medial side panels and you can find a technical line of text along the side of the midsole.
One of the biggest differences between this Dunk and the aforementioned "Beijing" is the iconic lightning bolt logo around the heel. Instead of being printed on in white, it's been finely stamped for a more premium look and feel. This is definitely a welcomed change as many sneakerheads found the printed logo a little out of place.
The fragment design x Nike Dunk High "Tokyo" is apparently set for launch on September 5th but we don't see that happening here in the UK, so make sure you keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for an updated release date! Let us know what you think of this upcoming collaboration, and while you're here, you might as well take your best look at the Gundam x Nike SB Dunk High "Project Unicorn"!
