Hailey Bieber’s jean game has always been strong. Whether it’s her combining a pair of washed Levi 501s with a grey tank and some heels, or a dark denim Gap pair styled with elevated flip flops and a crisp white shirt, the fit and tailoring has always been on point.
This is no accident. According to a recent interview, Hailey is obsessive about how her jeans sit, constantly collaborating with her tailor to ensure that they hug and hang just right. “I’m really, really specific and picky, and pay attention to the way things fit and feel on my body,” she told Vogue.
It turns out that pickiness has paid off, as the patron saint of the “clean girl aesthetic” has just collaborated with minimalist OG brand Gap on two pairs of oversized jeans: the Extra Baggy and the Low-Rise Loose. Tracking with Hailey’s sartorial MO, both were inspired by the ‘90s. The first pair come in an oversized cut and gently puddle around the ankles. The second are a little smarter; a straight-leg wash that tapers before the cuff, ideal for a denim-friendly office or marginally formal event, when you can’t bear the idea of donning a cigarette trouser.

In terms of materials, both are constructed out of rigid 100% cotton meant to break in over time, a lá 90s levis which people famously wore in the bath to break them in, and feature a subtle “1996” design detail in honor of the year she was born, alongside her autograph emblazoned in the pocket lining. The drop has, unsurprisingly, sparked an excited flurry among both fashion girls and Hailey obsessives.
The campaign – which merged Hailey’s signature minimalism with a nostalgic 90s tech vibe – was shot by Mario Sorrenti and styled by fashion and image consultant Alastair McKimm, with the accompanying video lensed by Charlie DiPlacido.
Both pairs cost $89 (UK price TBD) and come in three custom washes. The jeans will be available to shop in the UK from tomorrow at gap.co.uk.
