Are you ready for the Gundam x Nike SB Dunk High collection? Hands down one of the most hyped collaborations of 2021, the Beaverton brand have teamed up with one of the most iconic Japanese franchises in history for this two-shoe partnership. Kicking it all off with a TV series back in the '70s, the Hajime Yatate-owned property soon spawned movies, video games, comics, toys, and now, Dunks.
Unveiled in two colourways including the "Unicorn" and the "Banshee", both pairs are inspired by mechas that play big roles in the show. Crafted from leather, the silhouette has pretty much been reworked from the toebox to the heel to incorporate robotic elements. The front of the shoe has been remodelled after the robot's chest pieces, while emblems around the back add to the futuristic aesthetic that the manga and anime series are renowned for.
Of course, you can't talk about this collection without mentioning the Nike Swooshes across the sidewalls. Boasting a geometric pattern, these can actually be switched out as they're attached using velcro. In fact, both sneakers also come with two more Swoosh options, a selection of stickers, and three pairs of laces so you can customise them to your heart's content.
The Gundam x Nike SB Dunk High Collection is set to land on September 24th though this may be delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. Let us know which colourway you're feeling the most, and in related news, these Gundam x Nike SB figures are dropping later this month!
