Let’s be honest: not all City Series entries are created equal. Some land as instant hits, while others end up gathering dust next to your old Samba Supers. But this? This adidas x size? 1/2025 Glasgow? It’s a full-blown chart-topper, straight out of King Tut's Wah Wah Hut.
Marking the 25th anniversary of size?, this celebratory drop revisits Glasgow with a far sharper eye for detail and cultural homage. Inspired by the iconic King Tut’s, the legendary live music venue that’s launched more careers than your average BRIT Awards ceremony, the shoe arrives dipped in a rich, gig-night red. It’s a nod to the venue’s unmistakable burgundy and white signage, seen both outside and scattered through the venue’s walls, which have echoed with the sounds of everyone from Oasis and Coldplay to The Killers and Arlo Parks.
This marks the third time adidas and size? have paid tribute to UK music culture through the City Series. The Liverpool edition took cues from the legendary Cavern Club, the Beatles’ spiritual home, while Birmingham's nod to Black Sabbath came laced with heavy metal tones and moody purples. Now, Glasgow steps into the spotlight with a colourway that's as rooted in its city’s musical DNA as its predecessors.
Since opening in 1990, King Tut’s has been the spiritual home of Scotland’s live music scene, the place where legends begin. Oasis played their infamous breakout set here in '93. Blur pulled just 40 people in '90 before blowing up a year later. The Manics, The Verve, Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, and Florence all earned their stripes under its low ceiling. It’s more than a venue; it’s a proving ground, a launchpad, a cultural icon.
Launching exclusively at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow at 10am on 1st November before a wider release via the Size? Launches app on the 9th November, this pair is already generating buzz for good reason. If you miss out, there is a wider release online and across all Size? stores on 15th November.
Although some people on socials are jokingly making comparisons to the adidas Handball Spezial "Maroon Cream White", let's get this straight: those folks clearly aren't clocking the details. The craftsmanship here is intentional, down to the nostalgic gum sole – a crowd-pleaser among die-hards, and a world away from the polarising white tooling of the 2010 Glasgow edition.
The new Glasgow lands with all the charm of a local hero and the wearability of a terrace staple. Premium suede uppers, handwritten sidewall branding, and that lush gum sole. It’s a reminder of why we fell in love with the City Series in the first place: timeless silhouettes rooted in real stories.
So whether you're from Sauchiehall Street or just passing through, this is one for the rotation. You can find out where to buy the size? x adidas Glasgow City Series 25th Anniversary by downloading The Sole Supplier app!
