It’s been a while since the city of Liverpool got its own pair of JD exclusive-110s, having been 18 years since the Air Max 95 0151’s dropped in 2008. Although, looking at the cloudy Air units on this particular pair, it’s a risk lacing up such a rare pair.

Sure, we had the Liverpool F.C 110s, which felt like a win for those Scousers who find themselves at Anfield every-other weekend, but of course the Toffees felt left out of the action. The Block P x Lorenz OG x Nike was arguably Liverpool's biggest ode, with people running through its city streets for their chance to win a pair.

So now it feels good to see JD back in its 2000s city-edition era, with a Liverpool embroidered on the tongue, a Nike L.P.L on the spine and a Scouse on the mid-foot shank. Similar to the “Greedy” retro that just dropped, the pair is split between an orange and mint colour palette, creating something of a “Mandarin” and “Fresh Mint” hybrid.

The black tongue, and darker gradient on the side panels are also a welcome addition, given that people in Liverpool prefer the hard-wearing suede versions of the 110 library, something the guys at The Block P told us in an interview.

As the voice over in JD’s recent video campaign put it, “Everybody has a version. A first pair. A favourite pair. And now, we’ve got our own pair.”

The JD exclusive Liverpool x Nike 110 is set to drop on the 1.10 for £175, and all bets are on an activation at the Liverpool flagship store on Paradise Street. In the meantime, we’re expecting more exciting campaigns between now and the release date.
