With the A-ZX series going stronger than ever, the German giant has now teamed up with renowned porcelain maker Meissen, who previously collaborated with Supreme, for the one-of-a-kind Meissen x adidas ZX 8000 "Porcelain". Blurring the line between sneakers and art, this wearable masterpiece is unlike anything we've seen before, and it's going to cost you a very pretty penny.
Featuring a premium white leather construction that's hand-painted to perfection and combined with handmade porcelain overlays, this means the ZX 8000 is adorned with 15 of the 130 possible patterns that Meissen adds to its legendary Krater Vase.
From the Torsion clip in the midsole all the way to the adidas Three Stripe branding along the lateral and medial side panels, luxurious ceramic has been used in its place. All of this took a whole year to design and at least six months to put together, so the estimated price tag shouldn't come as a shock to anyone.
According to auctioneers Sotheby‘s, the Meissen x adidas ZX 8000 "Porcelain" could fetch up to $1 Million with the proceeds benefitting the Brooklyn Museum to fund art programming and to provide access to the arts for local kids. Set to be auctioned off between December 7th and December 16th, this is a must-have collectors item especially if you've got deep pockets. Let us know what you think of this piece, and while you're here, you might as well take a closer look at the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas ZX 8000 "Super Earth"!
