Celebrate the Mr. Bailey x adidas Originals Ozlucent Launch at This 'A Night Engineered By Mr. Bailey' Event

Foam footwear really is all the rage right now, and thanks to its part in developing the Yeezy Foam Runner, adidas can take some credit for kickstarting the trend. After putting out its own adiFOM EVA creation, the 3-Stripe's latest collaboration is set to continue the theme, so allow us to introduce the Mr. Bailey x adidas Originals Ozlucent. Launching very soon, adidas is even throwing an event to celebrate the launch, so read on to find out how you can attend.

Whilst the Foam Runner incorporated sustainably harvested algae in its construction, the Mr. Bailey x adidas Ozlucent takes the nature-inspired theme to the next level. Building on his previous adidas collab, inspired by extinct mollusks, Mr. Bailey looks to the oceans once more to theme his next lot of collaborations.

In the campaign video, Mr. Bailey spoke about the collaboration, calling nature “the greatest luxury” and explained the need to “reconnect and see how we can look to nature and its design system, and build upon them with our current technologies.”

The Mr. Bailey x adidas Ozlucent arrives in a tonal black make-up, and sees a scuba-style sock-like inner come encased in a black rubber cage that features a geometric design and various-sized perforations. The bottom of the cage sees a split-sole design arch upwards at the midfoot, whilst swirled patterns give the pair a technical look and feel. Textured outsoles add extra grip, and pull-lock laces add to the gorpy vibe. The sneaker is expected to come packaged in a soft casing made from sugarcane, cellulose and a box made from mushrooms in line with the collaboration’s outdoorsy theme.

The first pair from his latest adidas series, the Ozlucent is supposed to “represent the first embryonic stage of this product rollout.” Now, having been previewed late last year, the sneaker has finally been given a release date of the 9th of February, but to celebrate the release there will be a launch event in London the same night. "A night with Mr.Bailey will see the designer and 3-Stripes host a Blue Space takeover in adidas' Oxford Street store, with a Q&A, DJ set and free refreshments. Those purchasing the shoes will also receive a special-edition box, and the chance to have their purchases signed by Mr.Bailey himself. Want a ticket?
