Everyone would agree that New Balance has earned itself a top spot in today's list of best sneaker brands through the assortment of admirable collaborations we've seen over the past year. And while recently-teased partnerships are still in the works with the likes of Ronnie Fieg's KITH and Justin Saunders' JJJJound, the Boston-based label is putting its New Balance 990v5 "Grey" to the front for a vegan-friendly makeover this month.
It may definitely share some similarities to the classic 990v5 "Grey Castlerock" colourway, though this "Vegan Grey" opts for a more tonal outfit with sustainability in mind.
Eco-friendly materials craft the panels from heel to toe, including the breathable mesh base, suede fabric, and TPU supports. The model's shape and branding placements are maintained as usual, apart from the "V" logo around the heel—highlighted in green—nodding to the vegan theme. An ENCAP-engineered midsole unit underfoot completes this NB 990v5 releasing this Vegnuary.
