The New Balance x Dover Street Market 991v2 “Made in UK” Drops Tomorrow

New Balance has teamed up with luxury concept retailer Dover Street Market (DSM) for a special edition of the Boston brand’s 991v2 Made in UK model.

Originally launched in late 2023, the 991v2 is an updated take on the cult classic 991. True to its name, this iteration continues to be crafted in the UK, now featuring a range of enhancements that elevate its design and performance.

This all black version retains the iconic silhouette of the retro runner while stepping up its premium appeal. The design incorporates Nubuck leather overlays on breathable mesh uppers, giving it a refined yet understated look. Reflective accents on the toe box’s sway bar and the tongue’s logo badge add a nice touch.

Branding details, including “DSM” logos on the tongue and lateral side tab, underscore the exclusivity of this collaboration. For comfort, the shoe features full length FuelCell cushioning paired with classic ABZORB and ENCAP technology for support and responsiveness.

Fans of New Balance may notice similarities between this release and the “Triple Black” 991v2, introduced in January 2023. However, the DSM collaboration distinguishes itself with reflective accents and co branded details. Recently, New Balance has leaned into monochromatic designs, unveiling all black colourways across models such as the hybrid loafer 1906L, the 1906A, and the 2002R.

In March 2024, the New Balance x DSM partnership delivered another black 991v2 for the TCS London Marathon, highlighted by subtle orange and green accents on the midsoles.

This collaboration dates back to 2022, when the duo released the first joint 991 models in grey and khaki, paying homage to New Balance’s signature palette.

The New Balance x DSM 991v2 is slated for release on 21st February, 2025 for £220 and will be available exclusively through Dover Street Market’s global stores and online shop.
