Seasoned sneakerheads will no doubt remember a time when woven sneakers dominated the scene, and it's looking like the trend could be back in 2023. With plenty of high-profile collabs lining up woven models for the latter half of this year (both UNION and sacai have options on the way) it seems only natural for Nike to bring back the Air Footscape Woven - a fan-fave model that’s sure to get people talking once more.
Having last hit the shelves in the late 2010s, the Air Footscape Woven makes its return in a somewhat subdued fashion, arriving first in a pared-back “Black/Grey” colourway. The upper comes crafted from faux fur-covered panels for a luxe touch, while the shoe’s signature woven pattern weaves its way across the midfoot in a grey shade. Matching grey laces fasten the pair in an asymmetrical fashion, and a comfy two-tone white and grey sole unit sits underfoot.
As well as this, the shoe is also expected to come in a bolder, "Cow Print" makeup. Here, cream and brown hairy uppers sit atop a white midsole, while the woven detail comes in a cream colour.
Right now, Nike is still yet to reveal any release info for the upcoming Air Footscape Woven models, but be sure to stay tuned for more info and images as it comes in. In the meantime, let us know whether you’re here for the trend, and continue reminiscing on the old days with the return of the Janoski.
