2022 marks 40 years since the Air Force 1 made its grand debut. Designed by Bruce Kilgore, the now-legendary silhouette was actually discontinued in 1984. It was re-released two years later with the modern italicised logo and the overall design has pretty much remained unchanged since. To celebrate four decades of the AF1, the Beaverton brand are set to bring back the iconic Nike Air Force 1 Mid "Independence Day" - and here's everything that we know so far!
We're just going to put this out there: The Air Force 1 Mid is going to play a major role next year - you heard it here first. Launched back in 1997, the "Independence Day" features an all-leather construction that's as premium as they come. The pebbled leather base is dipped in a crisp "White" hue, while shiny "Midnight Navy" accents descend upon the toebox and ankle strap for a patriotic look and feel that screams US of A.
Speaking of which, this strap is adorned with a "Varsity Red" Nike Swoosh. This is then complemented by a larger jewelled version that can be found on the lateral and medial side panels. To round it all off, the stainless steel dubraes tie everything together, finalising the truly awesome design.
The Nike Air Force 1 Mid "Independence Day" is set to launch sometime in 2022, so make sure you keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more info as it develops! Let us know if you'll be grabbing this re-release next year, and in related news, the Stüssy x Nike Air Force 1 Mid has been unveiled!
