It's crazy to think that even after four decades, the legendary AF1 has pretty much remained unchanged since. Regarded by many sneakerheads as the most iconic silhouette of all time, it's now been given an unexpectedly rugged reimagination with the upcoming Nike Air Force 1 NDSTRKT. While it's certainly not everyone's cup of tea, there's no doubt that this pair will turn heads wherever you go.
What Batman's Tumbler would look like if it where a shoe, this Air Force 1 takes inspiration from Dennis Rodman's classic Air Shake NDestrukt. Working on a "Triple White" leather base, buttery smooth suede descends upon the toe box while a 3M-infused Swoosh shoots across the lateral and medial side panels. That's where all the similarities come to a halt.
Covered literally from heel to toe in large black rubber shields, this results in an extremely utiliarian aesthetic that's quite unlike anything we've seen before. This car tyre-like effect is then replicated onto the Nike tongue badge as well as the pull tab around the back.
Launching in Japan on December 1st, we should expect the Nike Air Force 1 NDSTRKT to debut in Europe either at the end of the year or the start of 2021. Let us know what you think of this crazy crep, and in related news, the Nike Air Max 95 "Neon" gets a militarised makeover!
