With the Air Jordan 1 and the Chuck Taylor both getting a sustainable makeover, it looks like the Swoosh will be moving its environmental efforts to their core line as well with the Nike Air Max 90 "Crater". Taking inspiration from the insanely popular "Space Hippie" Collection that debuted earlier this season, this is another step towards the Beaverton brand's Move To Zero.
Arriving in an ultra clean grey and white colourway, the upper of the AM90 "Crater" is crafted from a canvas material that's infused with recycled polyester and post-industrial textile waste scraps. Pops of "Volt" feature throughout for a subtle yet striking contrast, while the confetti-inspired tongue is made to turn heads.
Moving down below, you'll find a Nike Air midsole that's constructed from the newly developed Crater foam. Utilising rubber scraps scavenged during the manufacturing process, this is one of the first sneakers ever made to use this type of technology.
Expected to drop within the coming months, the Nike Air Max 90 "Crater" is sure to reduce your carbon footprint. Let us know if you'd cop, and while you're here, take your first look at the eco-friendly Nike Dunk Low "Lemon Wash"!
