At the close of last year, Corteiz unveiled its highly anticipated Nike Air Trainer Huarache collaboration; and, surprise surprise, it vanished faster than free snacks in an office kitchen. Classic Clint 419, delivering heat that doesn’t stick around for long.
For anyone who missed out, there’s some good news: all the hype has pushed Nike to bring back the Air Trainer Huarache silhouette, in two very fresh colourways.
Originally released in 1992, the Air Trainer Huarache was an instant classic. While the sneaker gained widespread popularity, it forged a particularly deep connection with UK sneaker culture. Although models like the Air Max Plus and Air Max 90 became synonymous with grime music and the London scene, the Air Trainer Huarache resonated with the masses across the country.
For its return, the Air Trainer Huarache has been revealed in clean ‘Sail’ and ‘Blue Tint’ colourways. The design stays true to its roots, featuring a stretchy neoprene base accented with leather and suede overlays.
Perforations on the toebox enhance breathability, while an extended collar adds extra support. And, of course, no Air Trainer Huarache would be complete without its signature midfoot velcro strap.
The iconic “Huarache” badge graces the tongue, and everything rests on a chunky midsole packed with Nike’s classic Air cushioning technology.
While it may not be the coveted Corteiz collaboration, this release is still a big win for sneaker fans. Scheduled to launch in the coming weeks, the Nike Air Trainer Huarache will be available via Nike, the SNKRS app, and select retailers worldwide.
