Rumour has it that Nike co-founder Phil Knight's best selling memoir will be getting its own sneaker collection, aptly dubbed 'Shoe Dog'. According to sneaker insiders @pyleaks and @spicychickenwings, the pack will build on the iconic Cortez - a silhouette that has played a huge part in the Beaverton brand's history.
Comprising of three sneakers, they are all painted in a red, white, and blue colour schemes and feature Carolyn Davidson's original skinny Swoosh, a streamlined Peregrine Falcon logo, and a Dimension Six moon motif. If you're wondering what the significance of the last two are, they're actually alternate brand names that Knight and Nike's other co-founder Bill Bowerman sugg ested, before they settled on what is arguably the most iconic brand name in the world.
In terms of materials, it looks like the shoes will be crafted from ultra clean leather with the iconic ridged midsole underneath in rubber, giving the shoes a tastefully old school aesthetic that's sure to turn heads.
At this moment in time, the Swoosh have yet to officially confirm the Nike Cortez 'Shoe Dog' collection, but they're expected to hit retailers in July! Let us know which pair you'd add to your daily rotation, and while you're here, be sure to take a look at the full Nike sneaker range!
