Injuries may have disrupted Ja Morant’s season, but he and the Memphis Grizzlies continue to hold strong, maintaining a top 3 seed in the Western Conference and reaffirming their status as perennial playoff contenders after a brief stumble in the 2023/24 season. Off the court, Morant’s signature sneaker, the Nike Ja 2, is also making waves. Following a near sellout of its debut colourway, the Ja 2 has quickly gained traction, releasing a series of striking new designs in a short span.
The newest addition to the lineup is a fun kids’ colourway with bold “Blue Burst” and “Hyper Pink” tones. This marks the second expressive GS edition (although this one will also be available in adult sizing), following the standout Ja 2 “Poison Dart Frog.” Unlike the LeBron 22, which pairs with similar models in Nike’s basketball catalogue, the Ja 2 stands on its own, showcasing Morant’s and Nike’s continued effort to connect with younger audiences.
The shoe’s vibrant designs resonate with Morant’s high flying, dynamic playstyle, making it a natural fit for this demographic as well as the young at heart.
For those eyeing the adult and GS sizes of the Nike Ja 2 in the “Beyond Blue/Apricot Agate” colourway, the wait won’t be long; these are scheduled to launch on 1st March, 2025.
