There's no doubt that 2020 has been a pretty monumental year for Nike. With both the Air Jordan 5 and the Air Max 90 celebrating their 30th anniversaries, this year also marks 25 years since the Beaverton brand started manufacturing in Vietnam. A relationship that sprouted back in May 2005, they've been making their sneakers in the Asian country ever since, and to commemorate this massive milestone, it looks like the Nike SB Dunk Low "Vietnam 25th Anniversary" could be in the works!
Done up in the cờ dỏ sao vàng flag's colour palette, which literally translates to "red flag with yellow star", the "Vietnam 25th Anniversary" features a premium leather construction that's painted predominantly in red. A quadruple Swoosh logo is finely embroidered along the lateral and medial side panels for added depth, and this is complemented with a yellow rubber outsole underfoot.
A "Nike 25" tag is stitched onto the tongue, and of course, you can't talk about this Dunk Low without mentioning the "Nike Vietnam" illustration that's proudly printed on the toe box, showcasing the USA and Vietnamese flags uniting as one.
Whether this will be exclusive to friends and family or sneakerheads residing in Vietnam remains to be seen, but one thing that's for sure is that the Nike SB Dunk Low "Vietnam 25th Anniversary" will launch before the end of the year. Let us know what you think of this commemorative release, and while you're here, you might as well take your first look at the Concepts x Nike SB Dunk High "Duck"!
