Not many sneakers out there can say they're trash. In fact, the Nike Space Hippie 01 "Wolf Grey" is one of the only pairs that full embraces the fact that it's full of rubbish - literally. Part of the Beaverton brand's "Move To Zero" initiative, these environmentally-friendly and sustainable sneakers are a definite must have for any collection, and you can secure your own pair right now from Offspring!
While the "Wolf Grey" looks like your average sock-like shoe, upon closer inspection you'll find that there's much more than meets the eye. Starting with the upper, it's crafted from what's called Space Waste Yarn that comprises of about 85% recycled polyester made from recycled plastic bottles, T-shirts, and yarn scraps. This is accented with a "Volt" Nike Swoosh along the lateral and medial side panels and light blue pull tabs at the tongue and heel.
Taking a look at the bottom half of the Space Hippie, the bold green midsole is made Crater Foam which fuses Nike Grind with a blend of foams for stability and a unique aesthetic. All this means that every pair is at least 50% recycled material.
