First introduced to the market in 2010 as part of the Bowerman Series, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 was initially designed to act as an athletic sneaker, and did indeed thrive within this sector for a few years. However, it was when the kicks fully returned in 2019 that they really took off and began to become appreciated by sneakerheads. Initially reintroduced via a collaboration with London-based label A-COLD-WALL in 2018, the Vomero 5 instantly turned heads when it was first seen on the runway, which led to Nike fully reviving the sneaker throughout 2019 and 2020 with a slew of general release colourways.
While the silhouette quickly became a fan-favourite, it seemed like as soon as it had arrived it was discontinued, with the model seemingly disappearing from shelves with no plans for any further releases. Sneakerheads across the globe have been pleading for the Vomero 5 to return, and now it seems like their prayers have been answered, as brand-new colourways have just been unveiled by the Swoosh.
First up is the aptly-named Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Oatmeal”, showcasing an array of off-white hues that tap into the current vintage trend. Releasing alongside it will be the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Cobblestone”, a grey variation with hits of pale green. Both pairs boast Swoosh logos on either side, Bowerman branding and ultra-comfortable Zoom midsoles.
Joining those two colourways are the "Wheat Grass", "Black Sesame" and "Grey Beige" variations. The former arrives in an autumn-friendly palette of brown, beige and orange, the "Black Sesame" sees a black upper sit atop a cream-coloured base, while the "Grey Beige" deviates slightly from the "Cobblestone" pair as beige tones dress the overlays.
Set to launch in the coming months, many footwear fans will be looking to add these pairs to their collections, and we could well see even more colourways unveiled soon. Keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest and while you are with us, check out the model's appearance in the Doernbecher Freestyle XVIII Collection.
