It's been exactly one year since the Off-White x Nike Waffle Racer first leaked, and now, after a very long 365 days, we finally have an official release date for Virgil Abloh's latest Swoosh shoe! Dropping as part of the “TRACK & FIELD” collection, here's everything that we know so far.
Arriving in three extremely distinctive colour schemes, including 'White/Electric Green', 'Vivid Sky/Electric Green', and the fan-favourite 'Black/Fuchsia', the upper is crafted from a water resistant ripstop fabric with a grid-like pattern that protects the inner nylon base. Deconstructed Nike Swooshes grace the lateral and medial sides, while quoted text makes an appearance throughout.
Of course, we can't talk about the Waffle Racer without mentioning its unique lacing system that bears a resemblance to the Louis Vuitton Artistic Director's Dunk Low. Making use of two pairs of laces, including a classic flat version and a rugged rope one, these work with each other for the ultimate lockdown fit. To round it all off, the midsole is lined with a series of rubber spikes. These can't be removed but they're extremely soft so you won't even feel them underfoot.
According to sneaker insider @pyleaks, the Off-White x Nike Waffle Racer will be dropping on October 24th. While they're listed as a women's exclusive, that's not going to stop guys from squeezing into a pair! Let us know which one is your favourite, and keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for the latest and greatest sneaker news!
