Earlier this year, Sean Wotherspoon shocked sneakerheads by unveiling the China-exclusive Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Superstar "Black". An alternate version to the "Super Earth" that dropped last summer, we were all pretty disappointed when we found out that it was a region-locked release. With that said, it looks like the Round Two co-founder has been listening to us and he's now ready to launch it worldwide!
Made from 100% plant-based materials, the upper of the Superstar is crafted from faux leather and is decorated with floral embroidery across the lateral and medial side panels. Made from a range of waste-minimising methods, even the shelltoe and midsole make use of sustainably-sourced rubber.
As if that wasn't enough, the laces are actually recycled paper, and this is reflected onto the special adidas cardboard box as well. To round it all off, "Super Earth" tags grace the tongue and heel, while Wotherspoon's friendly earth mascot finds its way to the laces, finalising the design.
Originally released on February 28th in China, we're unsure when the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Superstar "Super Earth Black" will drop globally, so make sure you keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more news as it develops! Let us know what you think of this, and in related news, the Kerwin Frost x adidas Superstuffed is designed to look 5 times larger than normal!
