Streetwear designer Sheila Rashid has collaborated with one of the world’s biggest sportswear giants to deliver fans the Sheila Rashid x Air Jordan 1 Mid “Unite”. Giving a lesson in texture, abstractness and post-modern style, the result of the collaboration is a crep that will absolutely smash the test of time.
Famous for her colour-blocking and geometric designs, Rashid looks to urban culture for inspiration. Teaming with Jordan Brand for their ongoing “UNITE” campaign – which aims to shine a light on creatives across the US – Rashid is offering fans a sneaker that not only pays homage to her own unique style but fuses it with Jordan’s key aesthetic.
Crafted in two key parts, the toe of these Jordan 1’s comes in grainy leather with breathable perforations for ventilation. The back end of the shoe comes in brushed suede in a rich dark grey, which blends perfectly with the decadent purple. All the branding on this pair can be found on the grey end; Nike’s signature Swoosh logo comes in leather and Jordan’s instantly recognisable Jumpman is found on the tongue – also in leather.
Rumoured to drop in the coming months, there’s no news yet on when the Sheila Rashid x Air Jordan 1 Mid “Unite” will officially release, or how much it’ll set you back, but keep it locked into The Sole Supplier to be the first to know more about this release and more breaking news.
