Designed by Sean McDowell in 1998, the Nike TN Air Max Plus has been a staple in rotations for over two decades now. Having been decorated with a plethora of iconic colourways, including “Tiffany”, “Hyper Blue” and “Tiger Orange”, the Air Max Tuned has changed the Air Max game in ways we can’t even express. Constructed from a mixture of mesh and welded TPU stripes, the Air Max Plus has an instantly recognisable look that can be spotted from a mile away. Completed with a bright yellow TN Air logo on the heel, there’s plenty to love about this silhouette.
Two of our favourite iterations around at the moment are the Nike TN Air Max Plus “Black/Solar Flare” and the Nike TN Air Max Plus “Black/Silver”. Both stealthy colourways, and both must-cops for your winter rotation. If this sounds like what you’re looking for, then keep on reading to take a closer look at the two pairs.

First up, the “Solar Flare” AM Plus arrives with an all-black design that’s interspersed by hits of subtle white and yellow accents. The four visible Air units in the midsole blend into the backdrop, whilst mini Swooshes appear to be spray painted onto the mesh under the boned TPU caging. A plastic Swoosh appears on top of the design, though still in black. Nike Air branding stands out at the top of the tongue in yellow, matching to the heel counter. Underfoot is where the real magic is though, all the elements are tied together with a yellow and black outsole, giving you flashes of colour as you walk.
Finally, if you’re looking for something a bit more subtle, make sure to check out the Nike Air Max Plus “Black/Silver”. This super-stealthy triple-black colourway has pops of silver across the upper to add a metallic look to the sneaker. Grey detailing wraps around the laces, adorned with Swooshes, whilst the only bit of colour appears on the heel counter in usual Air Max Plus format.
