PUMA is bringing the Mostro OG back into the spotlight with a bold trio of colourways slated to launch in 2025. After its reappearance last year, this futuristic silhouette returns in vibrant red, green, and blue, injecting fresh energy into its unmistakable design. Originally introduced in 1999, the Mostro; aptly named after the Italian word for "monster"; was a groundbreaking innovation, blending elements of 1960s sprinting spikes and 1980s surf shoes into a hybrid style that remains as unconventional today as it was then.
The 2025 release sharpens the Mostro’s signature features while staying true to its original design. A breathable and flexible mesh upper takes center stage, complemented by striking black accents and crisp white branding on the Formstrip and heel for a clean contrast. However, the shoe’s defining characteristic remains its low profile silhouette paired with an avant garde spiked outsole, preserving the sculptural edge that has made it iconic.
A long time favourite among boundary pushers in both fashion and footwear, the PUMA Mostro was conceived as a fusion of performance and streetwear. Its laceless design, hook and loop strap, and aggressive outsole disrupted conventions when it debuted, carving out its niche as a statement making sneaker. This hybrid formula, daring when first introduced, still feels ahead of its time today.
With its Y2K inspired construction, the Mostro OG continues to exude a futuristic charm, proving that experimental design can endure. The new colourways amplify its playful yet bold personality, offering a modern refresh while honouring the features that made it so distinct.
The Mostro OG Pack will be available starting 1st March, 2025, on PUMA.com, at PUMA flagship stores, and through select retailers.
