The Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard Is Releasing For Kids Soon

Not only has 2019 been a crazy year for adult sneakers, it's been absolutely insane in the kids department as well. From Nike to Yeezy, it seems like every single time a high heat shoe drops, it'll be accompanied with smaller sizes for the little ones, and that's exactly what's happening with the Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard.

Giving the Mars Yard 2.0 and Mars Yard Overshoe the toddler treatment, it's so easy to just make a shrunken down version of the shoe, but the American contemporary artist has gone above and beyond, completely reworking each silhouette so that every single detail is designed specifically for tiny feet. This results in a ton of velcro straps, oversized pulls tabs at the tongue and heel, and flexible soles that are ideal for growing feet.

"Bottom line, my son, Guy Louis Armstrong Sachs, is on the sculpture team now,” explains Tom Sachs. “He's an important part of the team and he's got his French work smock, his 10 bullets onesie and, now, he has his Mars Yards.”
