Renowned American rapper Travis Scott and the famous Swoosh brand are taking another leap in their relationship as they take on the 1987 classic cross-training shoe, the Nike Air Trainer 1. Reports courtesy of reputable sneaker insider @py_rates_ mention that the Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 SP will be launching in three colourways.
While these images are early mock-ups for the time being, the first rendition sees a "Coriander" palette—possibly the closest match to the never-before-seen Air Trainer 1 Mid "Cactus Jack Brown" we saw on La Flame's feet in New York last month.
The "Light Smoke Grey" then follows, flaunting the titular hue with a drop of "Honeydew" tinge on the underlays. Lastly, the "Dark Smoke Grey" indulges in stark black and grey tones. The three-piece co-branded Nike collaboration is complete with the silhouette's iconic foot-securing strap and Travis Scott's prominent reverse Swoosh motif. Many would agree that the Air Trainer model is not at the forefront of the sneaker game today, but with collabs undeniably running the streetwear empire, will this forthcoming Travis Scott x Nike collab mark the rise of Tinker Hatfield's '87 design?
