Kanye West never ceases to amaze us. From the 750 to the 450, the American multi-hyphenate is always trying to one-up himself with his sneakers. Now, as we head towards the end of the year, it looks like he's about to reveal his most ambitious pair yet with the Yeezy Basketball Knit "3D Slate Blue" - and here's everything that we know so far.
Unveiled by sneaker insiders Yeezy Mafia, elements of the BSKTBL first leaked at the start of the year, but no one really knew what shoe they were for. Taking inspiration from several silhouettes including the 350 V2 and the QNTM, the shoe boasts a stretchy ankle collar that's dipped in black. The rest of the upper is done up in dark blue Primeknit with indigo markings throughout for a look that is sure to turn heads.
A shoe of this shape and structure is certainly nothing new. Taking things back to 2018 and 2019, Alexander Wang first played around with this type of sneaker with the Alexander Wang x adidas AW Run. More independent brands like Represent have also unleashed pairs like this.
Underfoot, you'll find an adidas Boost midsole that's taken straight from the aforementioned Quantum, and rounding off this Yeezy is a 3M reflective heel counter that's coated in a silver tone, finalising the highly contrasted design.
According to the Yeezy Mafia, the adidas YZY BSKTBL KNIT "3D Slate Blue" will drop sometime in December and will come in full family sizes. Let us know what you think of this brand new silhouette from Kanye and co, and in related news, the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 MX Pack has been unveiled!
