Ye’s foray into basketball shoes hasn’t exactly been an easy ride, and much of the controversy has actually come down to his flashy colour schemes. Whilst an early basketball-themed Yeezy would have reportedly been banned from the NBA due to reflective detailing on the heel, this doesn’t seem to have deterred Mr West from dropping this most recent colourway. The Yeezy BSKTBL Knit “Slate Azure” sees the shoe get done up with reflective detailing both on the heel and the toe, making for one eye-catching (but not court-friendly) sneaker.
Perhaps not the most supportive of basketball sneakers either, the “Slate Azure” Yeezy Basketball Knit features a sock-like construction and a beige and black adidas Primeknit upper. To the front of the shoe, reflective stitching can be seen woven into the design, and towards the back, reflective detailing can also be seen on the heel cup. These reflective areas glow a bright blue when the lights are down low, giving the “Slate Azure” colourway its name. Finally, the “Slate Azure” BSKTBL Knit comes finished with a cream-coloured midsole and and Azure Blue rubber outsole.
Assuming none of us here are NBA players, the “Slate Azure” adidas Yeezy BSKTBL Knit should be safe for us to purchase. Is this a pair you’ll be adding to your collection? Let us know your thoughts over on Twitter, and keep it locked for more release info as it comes in!
Up next, here's when the Yeezy "Wave Runner" could be getting a restock.
