Although it could be considered a pretty turbulent year for Ye, there’s no doubt that he rounded off his 2021 with a pretty stacked line-up of Yeezy releases. Looking forward to 2022, it doesn’t seem that he’s planning on slowing down anytime soon. Over the past couple of weeks, more and more images of new Yeezy pairs have started to hit the web, and the line-up is looking stronger than ever. From brand-new silhouettes like the Knit Runner, to new 350 V2 colourways and restocks of fan-fave 500s and 700s, 2022’s line-up has a style to suit everyone.
Read on to see what we can expect to see hit the shelves next year, and be sure to hit us up on Twitter and Instagram to let us know which styles you’re looking forward to the most.
The style that took Yeezy mania to incredible heights, the Yeezy 350 is set to launch in a number of new colourways next year. Although new, the “Dazzling Blue” colourway provides ample fan service, calling back to earlier 350 colourways such as the 2016 “Black Friday Pack,” whilst the 350 "Bone", "Onyx" and “MX Blue” pairs swap the coloured side stripe for translucent mesh, much like many of the more recent colourways.
A new take on the 350, the 350 V2 CMPCT appears to be a slimmed-down version of its predecessor. Although they’ve been met with mixed reviews so far, the sock-like structure of the upper has some saying that this is the comfiest Yeezy yet. Rumoured to be launching in “Slate Red,” we have to say these are a pretty bold choice, but look forward to seeing them in new colourways soon!
Also joining the 2022 line-up are two brand-new Yeezy 450 colourways. The Yeezy 450 “Sulfur” takes on a cream-toned hue across its knit and EVA construction, with the shade stretching all the way from the jagged midsole to the sock-like upper. In contrast, the "Cinder" colourway sees the shoe's sole get a brand-new gradient makeover, with shades of earthy brown taking over the sneaker.
If you’ve not managed to add a 450 to your rotation yet, this could be your chance!
Another fan-favourite silhouette, the Yeezy 500 recently saw a couple of releases in more winter-ready shades such as “Ash Grey” and “Clay Brown.” Now, the rugged-looking sneaker is to receive a more spring and summer-ready restock in the neutral-hued “Blush” shade. The second Yeezy 500 to ever hit the market, the “Blush” Yeezy 500 is certain to be a pretty popular cop this year, so be sure to keep an eye out for this one.
Ye’s really spoiling us this time round, with another super-clean pair set to restock soon. The Yeezy 700 V2 “Static” could be hitting the shelves again in 2022, and this time we’re refusing to let ourselves miss out on a pair. One of the most popular 700s to ever release, this white and grey colourway is one of the easiest to style Yeezys ever, and a must-cop for Kanye fans and sneakerheads alike.
A similar silhouette to the “Static” pair above, the Yeezy 700 MNVN has a few key differences which make the shoe stand apart on its own. Constructed from a Nylon upper, the 700 MNVN is known for its 3M “700” wordmark that stretches across the side of the sneaker. This time, the shoe is set to release in a “Resin” shade, reminiscent of light greens we’ve seen Ye use on other styles, such as the Yeezy Slide.
A new silhouette that we’ve been looking forward to for a while now, the Knit Runner should be set to launch in 2022. Largely based on the shape of the Foam Runner, the Knit Runner "Stone Carbon" comes with (you guessed it) an all-over knit construction. Dressed in a neutral “Stone” shade with a “Carbon” sole, these will take a little styling to get right, but wear them well and they’ll be hard to fault.
Something slightly different to the sneakers we’re used to seeing, the Yeezy 1020 Boot “Orange” is rumoured to launch in the last few days of 2021, if not 2022. The boot was premiered on-foot during one of Ye’s DONDA listening parties, so a release has been in the works for a while now. The rugged-looking boot comes in a neutral and bright orange colourway, and adidas appear to have tapped tyre company Continental for help on the chunky outsole.
The ever-popular Yeezy Slides are set to continue into 2022, with at least two new colourways to drop over the coming months. Building on the primarily neutral colour palettes we’ve come to expect from the style, the “MX Grey Brown” Slide sees the shoe take on the same kind of “MX” pattern as we’ve previously seen on the Foam Runner and 350 V2, mixing shades of grey and brown with flecks of a gold-like tone.
If you prefer your slides to look a little more understated, an “Onyx” Boost Slide is also set to drop next year. Darker than the previous “Soot” version, the “Onyx” Yeezy appears to have a more textured make-up than the earlier models, similar to that seen on the “Ochre” pair that launched in 2021. Believe us when we tell you that the Yeezy Slides are some of the most comfortable shoes ever – if you don’t have a pair in your rotation yet you should definitely pay attention to these drops!
Up next, these are the Jordans we’re looking forward to in 2022.
