2022 is already shaping up to be one of the hottest years for sneakers, with upcoming pairs like the Nike Dunk High "White" making it even more exciting. Very heavily influenced by East Asian culture, this mysterious Dunk features some pretty unique design elements - and here's our first look yet!
Arriving in a crisp "Triple White" colourway, the "White" bears a striking resemblance to "Pure Platinum" that launched last November. With an all-leather construction, the base of the shoe has been kept smooth and slick while a subtle pebbled finish has been applied to the Swoosh for added depth.
This Nike sneaker may seen somewhat minimalist from the outset, but as soon as you dive in for a closer look you'll find that there's way more than meets the eye. Firstly, the toebox has been decorated with a neat row of stars that go vertically across. The heel has also been embroidered with the Chinese character for "ten" or "pick up". To round it all off, the tongue forgoes the usual one-piece design in favour of a woven look that seems to be inspired by conical hats. This type of traditional headwear dates back 2,000 years and was, and still is, a form of protection from the sun and rain.
We don't know when the Nike Dunk High "Woven Tongue" will release but our sources tell us that they should drop sometime around spring or summer time. Let us know if you'll be adding these to your rotation next year, and in related news, the Nike Dunk High "Year Of The Tiger" is full of wild details!
