Three Reasons Why Lilac is Our Favourite Colour This Summer

Sneaker brands haven't held back when it's come to colour this summer, but there's one particular hue we've fallen in love with. Whilst lilac sneakers are nothing new, for some reason the kicks this year are just ticking the boxes more than ever before. We've put together three sneakers that prove just why the light purple hue is the best colour this summer. You're sure to agree with us after seeing these beauties!

As part of Nike's Move to Zero promise, there have been a few Air Force 1 "Next Nature" iterations released. Before this, we'd fallen in love with the crisp "University Blue" colourway, but now these lavender tones take the top spot. Like your usual AF1s, but this time with a purple Swoosh, heel and branding label, there is nothing to dislike about this pair. The cherry on top of the cake is the fact they are environmentally conscious compared to other AF-1s.

If you're on the lookout for something a little different, however, then the Air Force 1 Low "Lavender" is the sneaker for you. Floral, lilac piping separates the panelling on the shoe's upper, whilst a scaly leather Swoosh adds more texture atop the canvas body. A translucent lilac outsole finishes up the look.

Finally, it's not just Nike that has jumped on the lilac train. New Balance is bringing back the 530 silhouette that took over 2020, and within that movement is one subtly purple colourway that has us head over heels in love. The lilac accents appear to outline the 'N' logo on the sidewalls of the sneaker, as well as peeping through some of the other leather panelling on the upper, however the rest of the sneaker either appears in white, silver, or beige.
