American rapper and vocalist Travis Scott featured on the FC Barcelona strip for the Clásico fixture on 11th May. His brand, Cactus Jack, appeared in yellow lettering across the shirt's front, taking the place of Spotify's logo, a principal sponsor of Barça.
The men's side wore this specially branded shirt for El Clásico versus Real Madrid, and the women's team played in the limited edition kit on the eighteenth of May against Athletic Club.
An extremely popular artist on Spotify, Scott is noted for blending rap and alternative hip hop genres. He commands a substantial following on the streaming platform, boasting over 67 million monthly listeners and more than 44 billion plays. Furthermore, five of his tracks have surpassed a billion plays each, earning them a place in the 'Billions Club': goosebumps, SICKO MODE, HIGHEST IN THE ROOM, BUTTERFLY EFFECT, and FE!N.
"El Clásico captures the attention of a global audience," stated Scott. "This collaboration with Spotify and FC Barcelona allows me to merge my various creative spheres into a single point. It signifies more than simply placing the Cactus Jack name on a jersey."
Spotify and FC Barcelona have previously showcased international artists on the El Clásico jerseys, including Coldplay, KAROL G, The Rolling Stones, Rosalía, and Drake.
This occasion also marked the very first performance by the rap superstar in the Catalan capital, specifically curated to honour Travis’s most dedicated Spotify listeners. The event, filled with moments driven by fans and engaging activations from beginning to end, aimed to reflect the fervent passion of the supporters and the distinctive dynamism Travis injects into this partnership.
Alongside the Cactus Jack shirt, Spotify and FC Barcelona have also developed a limited edition capsule collection with Travis Scott, translating his creative vision into tangible items. Designed to be worn away from the terraces, the Cactus Jack range includes two unique hooded tops, a T shirt, a vintage style football shirt, a cap, shorts, a jacket, a scarf, and a retro football, all reflecting the spirit of El Clásico.
