As the old saying goes, rules are made to be broken, and it seems UNION Los Angeles is keen to embrace this proverb ahead of the summer 2023 season. Usually, summer is typically the time of the year to start injecting some loud pops of colour into your outfits, but instead, the brand has now decided to embrace those drab tones we've all come to know and love over the last few years.
One could argue these colours fit right in with LA's tropical summer weather, but it still seems somewhat uncommon to use darker shades of grey, black and brown, given the temperature. Included, we see short-sleeve shirts, football jersey-like tops, cargo pants, tees and more, with selected pieces even embracing a duck hunter-styled camouflage. With many of these styles typically what we'd expect to see from an autumn or winter capsule, it's a bold move on UNION LA's behalf.
Despite all of this, things aren't totally dismal and drab. In addition to the selected pieces in the lookbook, fans of the brand can be expected to see a 22 T-Shirt strong line-up with apparently enough pastel shades included to shake a stick at. UNION Los Angeles’ Summer 2023 collection will release online on the 18th of May. In other fashion news, Supreme x Bernadette Corporation deliver a typography-riddled collection.
