After taking a sneak peek earlier this week, we're now getting up close and personal with the Air Jordan 5 "What The"! Celebrating three decades of what is probably one of the most iconic basketball shoes the world has ever seen, this special edition release combines not two, not even four, but eight legendary colourways into one!
Beginning with the right shoe, you'll find that it's clearly inspired by 2011's "Tokyo". The tongue is taken straight from 2006's "Army Olive" while 2007's "Laser" vibes make their way to the collar lining. Of course, you can't have a shoe like this without referencing the "Bel Air" that arrives on the midsole.
In terms of the left shoe, the striking red hue clearly acknowledges 2009's "Raging Bull". 2015's ultra rare "Shanghai" is hinted across the heel badge, while the volt accents found throughout take influence from 2006's cult classic "Green Bean". To round it all off, 2011's "Quai 54" PE lands on the Nike Air midsole, finalising the insane design.
Rumoured to be launching on November 7th, the Nike Air Jordan 5 "What The" is one unique colourway. Let us know what you think of this limited edition AJ5, and while you're here, you might as well get up close with the Off-White x Air Jordan 5 "Sail"!
