A Ma Maniére, the acclaimed fashion label and retailer behind one of Nike's biggest recent collaborations, has unveiled yet another special creation. As part of the rollout for its “While You Were Sleeping” collection and the accompanying film, A Ma Maniére’s creative lead surprised attendees at a pre premiere event with an extraordinary "one of one" sneaker: a Converse Chuck 70 featuring an official Nike Swoosh.
While the concept of merging Converse and Nike branding isn’t entirely new Virgil Abloh famously explored the idea during his “The Ten” collection, and others, like Chinatown Market, produced a bootleg version, this marks the first time a brand has executed the crossover officially. Presented during an exclusive dinner co hosted with Converse, this isn’t just a creative experiment; it’s a statement piece that pushes boundaries.
The sneaker exhibits the quality we expect from anything A Ma Maniére touches. The neutral tones of the WWYS collection are reflected here, with burgundy piping accenting the midsole and intricate detailing embroidered onto the quarter panel. A textured split down the shoe’s midline adds depth and sophistication. Even the packaging underscores the “worlds collide” theme; this Chuck 70 arrives in a "cream and burgundy" Air Jordan 1 inspired box, blending the two iconic brands.
Unfortunately for sneakerheads, the A Ma Maniére x Converse Chuck 70 will remain a highly exclusive family and friends release, with reports suggesting only 50 pairs exist in the UK and 100 in the US. For now, fans can only hope for a broader release.
