The wait is finally over, the viral adidas Tang jackets are dropping via adidas CONFIRMED tomorrow. The signature frog-clasp jacket has quickly become a status symbol within the streetwear scene, cropping up in cities all over Europe and the UK.
The available colours are Collegiate Burgundy, Ash Grey, Focus Olive and Grey Six, with our favourites definitely between the light blue and olive edition. We'll have to wait on the sun yellow edition, but seeing as these will fly off the shelves, we can see that colour landing very soon.
The adidas Tang jacket is dropping via the adidas CONFIRMED app on the 10th of February at 9am. All four colourways will be available to purchase, but believe us when we say they won't stick around for long!
Good news, the Chinese New Years collection is now available in London-based stores and on the adidas UK website. Although we had to wait a while before the CNY collection finally arrived in the UK and EU, it was definitely worth it.
If you're in London then you can check out the flagship adidas stores on Oxford Street and Carnaby Street, however demand is high so don't expect the Tang and adidas cheongsam jackets to stick around for long. If getting to London is not possible then don't worry, the adidas UK website has the Ash Grey, Focus Olive, Collegiate Burgundy and Grey Six colours already loaded up!
With London Fashon Week around the corner, we expect to see a number of adidas Tang jackets tastefully styled on the streets of Soho. Until then, we'll be keeping our eye out on Instagram to see who's been rocking the CNY x adidas collection to the fullest.
The adidas Chinese New Year jacket is everywhere right now. It’s not just the TikTok algorithm doing bits; searches have surged over the past month, and resale sites are seeing listings pop up at lightning speed.
But why is everyone after the adidas CNY Jacket? Aside from being objectively stunning, we’re talking mandarin collars, frog closures and elegant, drapey tailoring, the Tang jacket cleverly taps into a trend Gen Z already fell for.
Remember the wave of fireman clasp jackets that took over TikTok a few months back? This is cut from the same cloth. While it swaps the metallic clasps for traditional Chinese knot closures, the fastening style hits that same utilitarian-meets-statement sweet spot that social media adores.
The boxy silhouette hits right in the middle of what is trending. Oversized, street tailored, and rooted in real cultural storytelling. It even echoes the legendary Firebird track top, with those Three Stripes running down the shoulders and arms.
And considering the Firebird’s rebirth as a 'cool girl' favourite (part Y2K throwback, part fashion essential), this jacket feels like a natural evolution for the adidas wardrobe.

Can you buy it in the UK? Not officially. The Tang jacket is an Asia only release for now, part of adidas’ “In China, For China” strategy that has turned around its fortunes in Greater China. Local design, cultural fluency, and hits like this have driven adidas to nine straight quarters of growth in the region.
Does this signal a shift in streetwear as China begins to set the trends? Only time will tell, but with adidas now more widely available in Greater China, we could start to appreciate their take on pieces that have long been part of the UK and US wardrobe. Much like the Skandinavian and Korean influence, you can expect to see China move up in the influential rankings in the coming years.
Although with the sky blue & red versions still to come out, we are expecting the Tang jacket to carry on trending into 2026. So make sure to download The Sole Supplier app where we can let you know exactly when the CNY jacket is hitting the UK!
And if you thought adidas was stopping at humans, think again. The brand’s pet collection is now doing the rounds, a streetwear style capsule for dogs and cats that mirrors the same cultural taste as the CNY drop. We are talking mini track tops, puffer vests, even windbreakers with frog knot closures in festive reds, letting you go full matchy-matchy with your furry mate.
Launched as a China exclusive for now, the viral CNY Pet line-up taps into that same “mini me” vibe we have seen trending globally, with functional design cues like water resistant fabrics, reflective trims, and luxe collars made from genuine leather. It is another example of adidas reading the moment and the market just right.
Like with the CNY collection we mentioned above, stay locked into The Sole Supplier so we can let you know when the Chinese New Year pet capsule hit adidas UK!
