Last year, New Balance introduced the “Snoafer” with its 1906L model, a creative fusion of a sneaker and a penny loafer. This year kicked off with adidas unveiling a Mary Jane inspired version of the iconic Sambas.
Now, PUMA is stepping into the spotlight with its own take on hybrid footwear; introducing the Speedcat Ballet SD, a ballerina inspired reimagining of their legendary Speedcats, dubbed the “Sneakerina.”
PUMA has gracefully embraced the trend of unconventional silhouettes, blending motorsports heritage with ballet inspired elegance. The Speedcat Ballet SD offers a fresh twist on one of PUMA’s most iconic designs, combining classic racing DNA with a refined, feminine aesthetic.
While staying true to the Speedcat’s signature features; suede construction, the signature toe cat, and foam stripes; this reinterpretation sheds the traditional lacing system in favour of a subtle, cross foot elastic straps for a true ballerina look. Crafted with a leather upper, you get an embroidered PUMA Cat logo on top.
Dropping on 1st March for £80, these sneakers (if you want to call them that) might just start a new trend. Click ‘Notify me’ to stay updated and be the first to snag a pair when they launch.
