Word Up! Korn x adidas is Here to Stay

Those familiar with nu-metal icon Korn will know it has had a somewhat symbiotic relationship with the adidas brand since its heyday during the '90s. With its members frequently wearing the 3-Stripes and even releasing a song called "A.D.I.D.A.S" containing the lyrics "all day I dream about sex," adidas and Korn have oddly never been partners up until this point.

Though adidas was rumoured to gift Korn free merchandise during the '90s, the band would eventually go on to sign a partnership with PUMA "because they told us they’d put us in a commercial and give us a little money to wear their shit.” Korn frontman Jonathan Davis told Kerrang in an interview.

Now, in light of Korn's 30th anniversary, the band and adidas have finally come together to release both a selection of footwear and apparel. The footwear portion of the collaboration arrives in the form of a Campus and Supermodified silhouette.

Upon the relaunch of the "Supermodified" Superstar design in 2022, adidas delivered a vintage nu-metal-inspired campaign featuring the likes of Limp Bizkit, Slipknot and Deftones, so it's fair to say there has always been some admiration for this silhouette among both the fans and artists of the genre.

Both the Campus and Supermodified arrive equipped with the band's signature logo on one of the tongues, a guitar pick keychain, and album cover art from Life is Peachy (1996) on the insoles. Accompanying the shoes, we also see a selection of collaborative apparel.

Featuring tees, hoodies and tracksuits, this apparel collection blends the band's classic iconography with adidas 3-Stripe and Trefoil motifs. A replica of Jonathan's purple sequinned tracksuit is also featured in the range, which will do doubt prove to be a hit among hardcore fans of the brand.

According to sources, the adidas x Korn collection is expected to land this month on the 27th of October via a number of retailers. Be sure to set a release reminder for the sneakers to be in with the best chance of purchasing.
