For the past 20 years, adidas and designer Yohji Yamamoto worked together in harmony to create a storied history of design in sport. Now, in celebration of the partnership, Y-3 has embarked on a year-long voyage of exploration dubbed "20 Years: Re-Coded". To showcase this latest campaign, Y-3 has turned to football legend and longtime friend of the brand, Zinedine Zidane.
If we take a look at Y-3 collections in the past, it's clear to see that sport has always been a key stimulant, with Yamamoto once saying, "Sport is Y-3. It is the brand’s central essence and inspiration."
With Zidane part of this campaign, it aims to highlight the technique, control and discipline that is displayed within Yamamoto's clothing, all qualities that seemingly mirror the footballer's career on the pitch. Shot by Gabriel Moses, we see the star dressed in a duo of contrasting Y-3 looks, the first of which sports a sleek all-black outwear style. Its counterpart showcases Y-3's distinctive knack for performance sweats.
The latest additions from this Y-3 campaign are now currently available on the adidas website, In other news, Disney x OVO keep it classic with this latest playful collab.
