The Off-White x Nike Rubber Dunk "University Gold" has got to be one of Virgil Abloh's craziest creations yet. Set to be his first all-original Swoosh sneaker, it made a brief appearance on the runways of New York Fashion Week 2020 back in February, and now, we're taking our best look yet!
Images courtesy of sneaker insider @wavegod_thelegend, the "University Gold" is painted in vibrant yellow hue with a metallic silver cage system that bears a striking resemblance to the Nike P-6000 silhouette. Crafted from a breathable mesh base, a rubberised Swoosh shoots across the side panels complete with an orange tag around the tip for that iconic Abloh aesthetic.
Moving down below, you'll find a black midsole unit that's very clearly inspired by the Nike Dunk. Rounding it all off is a leather heel badge that has a cut out for the "Nike Air" logo, as well as technical verbiage across the medials for that deconstructed look that we all know and love.
Rumoured to be launching this summer, the Off-White x Nike Rubber Dunk "University Gold" will release alongside two other colourways including a black and green pair and a blue and silver one. Let us know what you think of this collab, and in related news, the Off-White x Nike Air Zoom Tempo NEXT% is also dropping later this year!
