adidas Gazelle SPZL Night Indigo Blue

Fresh from the launch of the adidas Spezial Autumn/Winter ‘23 collection, SPZL founder Gary Aspden is finally dropping two editions of the iconic Gazelle. After being given the go-ahead by the HQ in Herzogenaurach, this version boasts adopts details never before seen in the silhouette's entire 50 year plus history. Given this is the more seasonally appropriate colourway, the adidas Gazelle SPZL “Night Indigo Blue” serves as a perfect option for knocking about during the darker days of the year.

Referencing one of adidas' Island Series silhouette's from the '70s, the Tahiti "Marine" heavily influenced this release thanks to a suggestion from SPZL collaborator Mike Chetcuti. Gary Aspden’s creative masterclass stands out once again as the legendary curator arranged a diverse range of footwear for his A/W ‘23 lineup. Harkening back to the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s remakes of the quintessential trainer, this adidas Gazelle SPZL incorporates an indigo blue suede construction with deep blue accents enveloping the sawtooth 3-Stripes on the sides and heel tab.

Meanwhile, the gold foil “Gazelle SPZL” print on the lateral panel has a slightly oversized style akin to the ‘80s Canada-made version. Woven Trefoil and Mod Trefoil logos adorn the tongue, highlighting the collaborative cornerstone of archival adidas kicks. Extra sets of laces allow you to get creative and personalise your kicks. The blacked-out sole features a foxing strip with a skived top portion to achieve a smooth finish. The gum rubber outsole with herringbone traction patterns wrap up the throwback design of this adidas Gazelle mash-up.
