Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Gazelle Indoor Corduroy Multi

After a slight delay, the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Gazelle Indoor “Corduroy Multi” is finally landing on the adidas CONFIRMED app. Given the success of the duo’s last offering with the Orketro “Multi”, it looks like sneakerheads may have redeveloped an appetite for Wotherspoon collaborations. While the Disney and Super Earth projects may have waned in reception, the new Gazelle Indoor “Corduroy Multi” may just be the perfect silhouette for Wotherspoon’s playful palette.

The shoe is based on what Wotherspoon calls the “vibrant but simple in perspective” art style of the ‘60s and ‘70s. For this particular project, the designer soaked in the many art forms that existed during the two decades and translated that onto adidas’ Gazelle Indoor.

The upper’s off-white corduroy construction pokes out here and there, with the abstract print decorating the various sections of the shoe. It’s also worth noting that the randomness of the print means that each pair is essentially a one-of-one, unique to you, the wearer. Wotherspoon has described the various misprints or overlaps as a reflection of human error that existed within the printing methods of the late ‘60s; just another example of his love of imperfection. Head on inside where the cork insoles provide a sustainable alternative to your standard sockliner and moulds to your foot over time. As expected with Sean Wotherspoon collaborations, the Gazelle Indoor is also made from vegan-friendly materials without the presence of animal adhesives.
