Long-time collaborators atmos and adidas team up to honour NBA legend Patrick Ewing and his alma mater Georgetown University. This atmos x adidas Rivalry Low “Snakeskin Grey Navy” revisits the Rivalry model, first known as the adidas Ewing. Nods to Ewing’s jersey number with premium snakeskin overlays headline this collaboration.
Japanese streetwear brand atmos quickly follows up on the Adimatic Mid collaboration with another vintage shoe. This time, the classic adidas Rivalry Low from the mid-80s gets the special atmos treatment. The adidas Rivalry is a durable basketball shoe introduced in 1986 as a go-to sneaker of New York Knicks superstar Patrick Ewing. Along with the adidas Forum and Conductor, the Rivalry helped adidas stay on top of the basketball market as other brands rose. The Brand with the 3-Stripes re-released the Rivalry multiple times, even getting a luxurious Y-3 treatment recently.
This special adidas Rivalry Low is an ode to Patrick Ewing and his college career with the Georgetown Hoyas. The shoe features a grey upper with blue snakeskin overlays on the 3-Stripes, tongue, and heel tab. Trefoil labels adorn the tongue and heel tab in white for additional aesthetic. Patrick Ewing’s 33 jersey number gets embroidered on the lateral rear. The grey rubber cupsole completes this tribute to one of the NBA’s greatest centres.
