German sportswear giant adidas digs deep into the archives and rolls out a handful of SL 72 RS colourways. This early ‘70s running shoe was the first model in the SL (super light) series and became a cornerstone for the brand’s running shoe offerings during the decade. The adidas SL 72 RS “Blue White” harkens back to the heyday of sleek running shoes built to achieve maximum speed.

The silhouette took centre stage in 2023 as part of the Wales Bonner collaboration. This 1-of-1 reissue of the adidas SL 72 stays true to the original 1972 build. The sleek trainer boasts a blue nylon base with suede overlays encompassing the T-toe, mudguard, eyestay, and heel. White leather covers the sawtooth 3-Stripes and Trefoil-embellished heel tab, while a gold foil print displays an adidas SL-72 branding. The textured tongue features a classic adidas Trefoil label. A dual-density EVA midsole, split into red and blue hues, delivers ample cushioning while maintaining a low-to-the-ground ride. The aggressive gum-coloured outsole features blade patterns and suction cups to ensure grip on all floors.
