Bridging football and lifestyle, the adidas SPZL F.C. assembles an exclusive collection inspired by European Cup stories from the ‘70s and ‘80s. This project by Gary Aspden coincides with the label’s 10th anniversary, joining a chock-full of limited-edition styles in the catalogue. Dropping alongside matching apparel, the adidas SPEZIAL Aberdeen FC celebrates the namesake football club that won the 1983 European Cup Winners’ Cup, preserving the Scottish squad’s legacy through fashion.

The colourway pays homage to the adidas jacket that team manager Alex Ferguson wore during the awarding ceremony. This trainer arrives in a vibrant red suede upper with a T-toe overlay and serrated eyestay reminiscent of the brand’s old-school terrace trainers. Navy blue accents animate the 3-Stripes and back tabs, offset by a white contrast stitch on the edges to mimic the jacket. A golden “ABERDEEN SPEZIAL” print sits horizontally on the lateral foxing, whilst a woven Trefoil logo adorns the tongue. Extra co-branding graces the sockliner, embellished with a round gold “Made for SPEZIAL” sticker. Rugged black textures construct the foxing, propped up by a herringbone gum rubber sole. This sneaker includes a special-edition hang tag and an additional pair of insoles.
