The Simpsons x adidas Stan Smith Homer Simpson

adidas reunites with the iconic franchise, The Simpsons, to create what could be the most meme-worthy shoe of all time. Known across the world for its comical cartoon take on the traditional American family, the Matt Groening-created TV show has continued to leave its footprints across culture over the past three-plus decades.

Since 2021, the German footwear titans have collaborated with the show to release a slew of playful takes on a select number of its most iconic silhouettes, such as the “Krusty Burger” ZX 10000 or the “Squishee” Superstar. Lined up for 2023 and set to take centre stage across both the world of memes and footwear is this Homer-themed Stan Smith.

Referencing the scene from Season 5 Episode 16 “Homer Loves Flanders”, this funny moment turned meme-gold is detailed across the heel tab, with adidas tapping into the silhouette’s traditional hues and internet culture with this genius design. A green fur mimics the bush, while an embroidered version of Homer retreats back into its furry textures, similar to the “Marge Simpson” edition that is also set to release in 2023. Homer’s blank-faced portrait is also stamped onto the tongue, replacing the well-recognised outline of Stan Smith’s face, a feature that normally gets swapped out on the collaborative editions. The white leather upper is complemented by an aged midsole and accompanying set of perforations, with the character’s name scribed on the sidewall via gold foil lettering. Tucked inside is a green sock liner that provides extra comfort to the ‘60s tennis silhouette and boasts a co-branded sewn-in patch.
