The Converse SHAI 001 “Masi Blue” takes its name from SGA’s brother, Thomasi, whose cool demeanour helps him stay calm under pressure. The rollout for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s first-ever signature basketball shoe has been spectacular, having dropped multiple monochromatic colourways named after each member of the family, proving that the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar poured his heart and soul into this project.
Doused in a bright blue hue, this SHAI 001 features a puffy, moulded upper with a winged shroud held together by a midfoot zipper. The padded collars and enlarged tongue structure deliver additional comfort around the ankles without feeling too restrictive. An embossed Converse Star Chevron decorates the glossy rear panel, complementing SGA’s new logo that pays homage to his duality as an athlete and a creative. A traditional lacing system helps keep your feet stable and secure as you dribble your way past every defender. The Air Zoom technology nestles in the forefoot for a responsive ride, supported by a durable rubber outsole that provides multidirectional traction.
Available on the Converse website and select UK sportswear retailers, you can find out where to buy the Converse SHAI 001 “Masi Blue” by keeping it locked to The Sole Supplier!
