While the New Balance Made in USA creative director Teddy Santis remains busy with his upcoming MiUS collections, his Aimé Leon Dore fashion brand graces NB’s archival silhouettes. After helping New Balance’s late ‘80s basketball shoe revival, ALD reunites with the Boston-based sportswear giant for another comeback release starring the New Balance T500. This silhouette debuted in 1982 as a low-profile tennis sneaker, returning for the first time in the modern-day sneaker scene to become New Balance’s next streetwear hit. The Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance T500 “White Black” preserves a classic white and black colour palette, highlighted by aged midsoles for that retro flair!
This colourway has an all-white leather ensemble with old-school design aesthetics, such as the perforated toe panel and nylon tongue. Black shades engulf the N logos on the sides, inner lining, and heel tab. Co-branded Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance T500 branding adorn the nylon tongue. Signature ALD details like the yellowed midsole fulfil the vintage design, while the crisp white rubber outsole rounds out this ‘80s classic.
