Jordan KO 1 Low Kentucky

Jordan Brand reissues a basketball underdog with the return of the Air Jordan 1 KO Low. Dropping alongside the main Air Jordan line back in the ‘80s, the KO was a cheaper alternative to the $64.99 Air Jordan 1 thanks to its canvas upper. First retro-ing in 2010 and 2016, this “Kentucky” release will be warmly welcomed by collectors of ‘80s basketball silhouettes out there, of which the numbers are rapidly growing!

Although we did receive a AJ KO 1 High “Storm Blue” in 2021 and “Royal” in 2014, it’s been decades since we’ve seen the “Kentucky” colourway. The leaked images reveal the AJKO 1 in its traditional canvas tooling, with the University of Kentucky colourway dressing up the simple panelling. On the heel sits the KO iteration of the Wings insignia, embroidered in a grey thread. The tooling sits atop an off-white midsole, making the archival connection more obvious with its use of vintage hues. While the silhouette is normally placed against the Air Jordan 1 Low, many draw a closer comparison to the Terminator Canvas Low, another Nike silhouette which is set to return in 2023.
