Jordan Brand introduces the Air Jordan 4 Retro GS “Pizza”, a playful new addition to the 40th anniversary lineup. The delicious pizza was once responsible for an iconic moment in MJ’s storied basketball career, having caused the infamous “Flu Game” when Mike experienced flu-like symptoms in Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals, yet was able to put up video game numbers to capture the win.
Mixing the right ingredients, this AJ4 showcases a sesame-brown nubuck base with a hairy suede mudguard to form the crust. The black TPU lace cage and support wings offer stability at every step, while the plastic netting delivers optimal airflow to withstand the summer heat. A striking red rubber outsole spreads the tomato sauce for added flavour, complementing the Jumpman logos on the tongue, insole, and rear. The chequerboard graphics on the sockliner replicate the signature tablecloth of world-famous pizzerias, another detail that is a chef’s kiss. The black and white polyurethane midsole carries a visible Max Air bubble in the heel for ample cushioning and shock absorption. This rendition gets served in a pizza-themed shoe box with a matching sticker donning the Jumpman logo as one of the toppings.
